Captain Bill has been sailing the British Virgin Islands since 2006 and, as of March 2020, has done 77 charters. His nautical career actually started in the U.S. Navy in November 1986. He was a Corpsman and a surgical assistant by trade, served on the USS Iwo Jima LPH 2, the USS Saipan LHA 2, Navy hospitals in Portsmouth, VA and Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. 8 years, 8 months, 4 days, 4 major deployments and countless other months spent at sea, he called it a day. Many life events and years later, he now calls Stray Shower on St. Thomas home. Bill has his 6-Pack, Master's and Sailing Endorsement licenses from the USCG. Bill has also been dubbed ‘Captain Ron’ by many a prior charter crew member! (You’ll have to meet him to really understand … )
Tamii, Bill's first mate, joined her first term charter sail in the BVI in 2013, fell in love with the blue of the Caribbean Sea and the islands. It was the first time she ever really learned how to relax! After her third charter trip, she went home to Texas, sold everything and moved to St. Thomas for good. 5 years later, she took an early retirement to join Bill sailing Stray Shower full time. Previously, she had the opportunity to help rehab and sail on a 50’ monohull in the Chesapeake Bay area.

Pirate dog, Buddy, is our deck ‘hands’ (4 paws). A 7 ½ lb Maltese that thinks he’s the biggest dog on the planet. He’s been Tamii’s constant traveling companion his entire 8+ years, and has taken to sailing well. He enjoys keeping watch on Captain Bill while underway and frequently suggests he should have his belly rubbed if said Captain has a free hand. (Note: The Maltese is a hypoallergenic breed sporting fine hair, with no undercoat or dander that comes with a fur breed.)
