Other Catamaran Charter Information

What About Seasickness?

What About Seasickness?

What About Seasickness?

We get this question A LOT!  The good news is that this region of the Caribbean is a "sailor's paradise" for good reason.  Almost all of the islands are pretty close together and this means that you can easily plan your charter itinerary to include the ability to always have land in sight.   This helps you to be able to focus on the horizon and manage any light queasiness.  There is also plenty of outdoor lounging space that will allow you to take in lots of fresh air while we are sailing.   Oh ... and we have a catamaran!  That means with two hulls, there is more stability than a traditional monohull.  Additionally, there are daily opportunities to get off the boat and spend some time on land.

We have had a number of guests that weren't sure about it and decided to make sure they were prepared, if needed.   Go visit your doc and ask for a prescription for a 'seasickness' patch.  We've seen these patches work for many folks in the past.

If you'd prefer not to go with a prescription patch, there are many natural alternatives (most commonly, ginger).  This site appears to have a good deal of information on potential preventative measures you can take to ensure you enjoy your time sailing!

While the weather and the seas in this area almost always make for easy and smooth sailing, those are both controlled by Mother Nature and King Neptune, so we cannot guarantee things won't get bumpy.   If you are concerned about seasickness, please do make preparations for alleviating your symptoms.   And you can always let us know that you are uncomfortable, we'll be happy to make last minute changes to the plans for the day in order to try to get to a calm spot where you can get some time on land.

Have you checked out our photo gallery?   If not, don't miss it!   You'll see A LOT of photo credits there.   All the photos with credit were shared with us by past charter guests over the years!  We think that you'll see through their lenses what a fantastic time they had sailing on our catamaran with us!  We hope that you'll also get some great pictures that you'd like to share!

Covid-19

What About Seasickness?

Covid-19

We will be cleaning the boat between each charter according to the standards set out by the VI Professional Charters Association that are based on the CDC guidelines.  Additionally, after manual cleaning to disrupt existing biofilm has been completed on all surfaces, we will be utilizing a  disinfectant fogger throughout the boat.

High traffic areas like countertops, railings, door handles, etc. will be cleaned and disinfected regularly throughout the charter.

Hand sanitizer and hand soap will be provided and its use encouraged while you are aboard.

We also stay up to date on the requirements for masks, testing and other COVID related mandates in each of the regions we travel in, so don't hesitate to reach out to us to understand what current requirements may be in place.
